Basic information
The Neuro Muscular Taping technique, developed in Japan and Korea, is based on treatment using a specific elastic tape. By applying the elasticity of the tape in different ways, it can influence the body at different levels. The taping techniques may be combined with each other, so that the possibilities for treatment are extremely extensive and varied, enabling you to treat a limitless variety of conditions.
In recent years, the Neuro Muscular Taping technique called Taping Neuro Muscolar (TNM or Medical Taping Concept in Northern Europe) has gained a distinct position in therapies in Europe and Africa. Until now, there were no comprehensive reference books available. Josya Sijmonsma has succeeded in providing a lucid and readable survey of the various techniques used in the TNM in this book on taping for (para)medics, physiotherapists, sports therapists and kinesiologists.

About the author
Josya Sijmonsma was born in 1962 in Drachten, the Netherlands. She completed studies as a Physiotherapist in 1985, and then specialised in, among other things, Lymphatic Therapy, Medical Taping, Myofeedback, Meridian Therapy and Trigger Point treatment.
Since 2002 she has given special courses and lectures for professionals on Medical Taping in the Netherlands, Portugal, Germany and Belgium. She is an all-round expert on Medical Taping and provides courses in the different aspects of Medical Taping, including Basic, Advanced, Lymphatic, Neurologic, Podiatric, and Meridian Taping. In 2004 she published in Dutch the “Medical Taping Manual” which has been translated into both English (2009) and Spanish (2007) - ISBN 90-9018931-9.
