The book investigates the use of moxibustion in treating and preventing disease.

Part 2 researches this modality as it was practices at the end of the Ming dynasty (1368-1644) through the writings of three master physicians. 
Part 3 is the conclusion.  It summarizes and makes recommendations for increasing the scope of moxibustion practice in contemporary clinics of the world outside of China.
