Treatment compliance: a new Category for the Clinic blog
Compliance
Apart from the methodology of a great medicine like the Chinese one, right compliance with treatment is essential for successful outcome. Conversely, wrong compliance is the one biggest cause of failed treatment.
To ease Chinese medicine patients into wholesome self help, I have added a new Cateogory to this Clinic blog: "Treatment compliance". This is to create a stage on which patients, who have stumbled upon this matchless theatre of Chinese medicine, may open up to their living, changing, progressing drama awarely:
- To understand how our overt expectations of the drama may differ from the actual script inside us
- How the very drama that will be our true katharsis may unfold itself in ways we didn't anticipate or demand at the outset
- How, to be the living protagonist we want to be, we may have to abandon our judging selves to the part and engage with our own, organic drama

Often we don't notice we are speeding along an autobahn that leads nowhere; a conveyor belt not of our making, not intended for us as humans, yet insidious, seductive. We act out an intense consumer drama, full of requests and demands. We request and demand of everyone around us, and of our minds and bodies, in an accelerating, production-line tempo. We come to imagine that whatever we imagine can really be ours, instantly.
As trains of desires and delusions whoosh past it can be difficult to know what compliance with treatment would be.
Enlightenment
We want enlightenment, striving so hard to grab it that we race away from it unwittingly.
When it comes to clinical treatment for ourselves as real humans - treating both the details and the whole, the whole and all its individual parts - the way really to help ourselves better often darts behind our head. We demand this or that detail, this or that obsession. We can't see the wholeness of ourselves, and so also misunderstand the fragments.
Theatre
This Category will contain challenges; outmoded, old ways of thinking do frighten us from seeing that the curtain is up and the drama will go on, with or without our awareness of it.
